What's the link between male fistfights over females and human hand proportionsevolution?

You must be surprised that there is a link between male fistfights over females and human hand proportionsevolution. But what is it? A study conducted byUniversity of Utah have found new support for a theory that human hand proportions evolved not just for fine manipulation, but also to make a clenched fist that would buttress the hand to reduce the chance of injury or fracture during male fistfights over females. You can imagine that open-fist punches and open-handed slaps placed more strain on hand bones, which will increase the risk of injury during fights. The study is published online Oct. 21 in the Journal of Experimental Biology. This syudy is controversial for the moment. What do you think?
